ULTRASOUND AND INTERFERENTIAL THERAPIES

THE THERAPEUTIC ULTRASOUND METHOD

Here at Maryville Chiropractic Clinic in Maryville, TN, we treat a large range of aches and pains, from tendinitis and sciatic nerve pain to chronic migraines and back aches. Each patient's symptoms and pain levels are unique, which is why our approach with each of our patients is unique to them. When you come in for your first appointment, our highly trained team will assess all of your symptoms to determine which method or combination of chiropractic techniques would best benefit you and get you back on the road to total body health.

One such method has been used for nearly 50 years - the Therapeutic Ultrasound method. Through the use of ultrasound technology, ultrasonic waves are directed towards painful muscles or joints, creating a heating effect. Able to reach deeper muscles and tissue than hot packs alone, this method helps promote deep tissue healing and is used by many physical therapists.

THE INTERFERENTIAL CURRENT THERAPY (IFC) METHOD

The Interferential Current Therapy method works by relaxing muscles and soft tissue by sending a mild electrical current into the problem area. Electrodes are placed on the skin at the site of your pain and connected to the IFC device, which is the source of the electrical current. A safe a painless procedure, IFC therapy aids your body's healing process, eliminating pain and inflammation at the source and increasing circulation. It can be used to treat a variety of ailments, including joint pain, edema, post-operative healing, and more.
